👋🏻
I got into advertising to tell stories that make people feel things.
Like a spot for Apple Music that Entertainment Weekly called the “highlight of the 67th annual Emmy Awards” and made one Twitter user ask, “Is this an Apple Music commercial or an excerpt from my dream journal?” Or a found-footage spot for the NBA draft, which elicited heartfelt reactions like “Oh God! I’m super emotional right now” and “Most airtime Frank Kaminsky has gotten all year.”
My background is in copywriting and storytelling, and I was most recently a Group Creative Director at R/GA leading accounts like Sephora, Google Play, and Planned Parenthood. I work both independently and with my creative partner of 10+ years, Katie Yoder. With a decade of experience in a range of industries, including Tech, Healthcare, Sports, Fashion Retail, Beauty, Media, and Food and Beverage, I consider myself a jack-of-all-trades who can find something compelling and insightful about any product or brand. I believe that leading with empathy and treating everyone like humans produces the best work, and I’m probably one of the most organized creative directors you’ll ever meet (if that’s something you’re into.)
I’m interested in getting to the emotional core of a problem and finding an entertaining way to bring it to life, while promoting equality and non-stereotypical portrayals of people. I’m also interested in fostering dogs, playing volleyball, vintage shopping, and doing my tiny part to fix this broken planet.
